PERSONALITY AND TRACK PREFERENCES
Distance: 8-11 furlongs
Surface: Dirt
Leg Type: Closer
Pride is a very strong-willed stallion, always eager to push buttons. He will mess with the older horses, pushing his limits until he nearly gets kicked or bitten. It is hoped that he will settle down the older he gets, as the farm hopes they don't have to geld this stallion. While he might be strong-willed in the pasture and around the barn, he gets very focused and almost zen-like. Pride is a totally different horse around the track, and tends to behave himself with the occasional flare-up of his typical barn and pasture behavior.
It has been noticed by the racing team at Elk Creek that Pride shows quite a bit of promise on the track. He tends to push forward out of the gate but then settles into the middle of the pack for the majority of the race. Once the race gets to the backstretch, he tends to push forth towards the front of the pack in an attempt to take the lead.
